Night Market Aftermath

I recall that one of the meetup groups had an upcoming gathering to the Night Market. Given tonight’s results, it might not exactly be that fun after all. The thing is, as early as the opening hour, it was already packed with people, shoulder to shoulder. A bulk of the crowd comes from people lining up for takoyaki in about four or five different places, alongside lines of people buying the much-lauded stinky tofu.

For people with a camera, the only good shots you could get out of the event is to shoot right up to the people cooking, but that already would become a hassle to them and to the people buying. I saw a television crew trying to get the event, but it seemed that the best they were trying to manage is to get their camera on a tripod high above the crowd, and trying to walk through the mass of people.

I guess, in that sense, it wouldn’t be worth the trouble trying to shoot, in spite of so many people packing DSLRs. On a side note, these people were shooting not directly where the activity was, but on the sidelines where people were eating -way behind the food stalls.

On the other hand, I saw my long-coveted Taiyaki (8 years and counting!), but it was blocked by a takoyaki-craving queue that would last an hour and a half, or more.

Onto Obon Festival then!
